Once again, we are proud to be returning to the Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival in Bristol, where we will be screening archive films from the Bristol Record Office along with short films from the University of Local Knowledge. ULK is a multi-partner project produced by the Knowle West Media Centre with artist Suzanne Lacy, Arnolfini, University of Bristol, BBC, Bristol City Council and University of West of England. 900 short films have been created, uncovering local residents’ knowledge, skill, talents and expertise. The ULK website launches in 2013, developing the project further as an online space for learning and sharing knowledge.
Our progamme of films is just a small part of this wonderfully diverse festival – check out the full schedule on the Encounters website.
We will be located on both Saturday and Sunday outside the M Shed Museum, Princes Wharf, Wapping Road, Bristol BS1 4RN – and best of all, entry to the cinema is free!
